Bar Stool with Strong Backrest Support
These bar stools were designed for my sister who wanted a slim line, with a backrest, in walnut to match other pieces of furniture I designed for her. I was concerned about the strength of a joint between the backrest and seat rails. Then I found a chair at the Design Museum Danmark, while traveling through Copenhagen, that supported the backrest with extension of the back legs. This chair led to this stool design. The back legs set close together enhances the slim line. The side seat rails run from the back legs to the front rails, with a short rail between them in the back under the seat. The seat shape adds dimension.

I love the look of this project!! I was just wondering if the backrests are as low as they look in the picture; or if it was a camera angle doo-dad?
